Yuseph David Zapata Lamir: “YuZapata: Tropical Concrete”

A journey from the streets of Cartagena to the heart of New York, merging the vibrant spirit of the Caribbean with the pulse of the big city.

In Tropical Concrete, Yuzapata brings the essence of Cartagena to New York through his most iconic character: the Palometa the Pigeon. More than just a symbol, this character is a free spirit that crosses borders, carrying the colors, joy, and energy of the Colombian Caribbean to the Big Apple.

With a bold fusion of street art style, traditional refined techniques and immersive technology, the artist captures tropical vibrancy and sets it against the dynamic urban landscape of New York. Vivid shades of orange, blue, pink and green leap from the canvas, creating a striking contrast with the city’s textures and relentless rhythm.

This exhibition is a dialogue between two worlds: the lively, festive Cartagena, bursting with color and life, and modern New York, where urban art transforms the streets into an open-air museum.

Tropical Concrete is more than an exhibition—it’s proof that art, like the Palometa, knows no limits.
