Studio Residency

Summer and Winter | Twice Annually

The Bushwick Gallery Studio Residency is a biannual program designed to foster artistic experimentation, critical inquiry, and creative development. Held each Summer and Winter, the residency offers a month-long immersion into process-based practice within a non-commercial, intellectually rigorous environment.

Rather than prioritizing exhibition-ready outcomes, the residency centers the act of making itself—encouraging risk, reflection, and the freedom to reimagine one’s approach to material, form, and concept. Each session concludes with either a public open studio or a more intimate, appointment-based showcase, offering a rare window into the evolving practices of selected artists.

The Winter Residency offers a more contemplative setting, prioritizing quiet investigation and conceptual depth. Studio visits are arranged by private appointment, creating space for slower rhythms and sustained creative inquiry.

The Bushwick Gallery Studio Residency is ideal for artists who are not simply producing work, but actively questioning and evolving their practice. It is a space for generative risk, critical engagement, and interdisciplinary exchange—free from the pressures of traditional exhibition models.
