Kajal Zaveri is a New York-based artist whose luminous abstract landscapes evoke both memory and transformation. Originally from India and formerly based in California, she brings together the vibrancy of her heritage, the light of the Pacific coast, and the rhythm of New York’s urban energy to create paintings that feel both timeless and immediate. Her work bridges abstraction and realism, drawing on the natural world as a mirror for emotion and change.
Largely self-taught, Zaveri has built a practice grounded in intuition, color, and reflection. Her paintings are acts of meditation, where gesture and hue trace the movement of thought and the pulse of nature. She works in oils, layering and blending color directly on the canvas to create surfaces that breathe and shift. The result is an atmosphere of lyrical intensity—an echo of landscape rendered through memory rather than observation.
Zaveri’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with features in Elle Décor, New Visionary Magazine, Hyperallergic, and Visual Art Journal, among others. Her art has appeared on digital billboards in Times Square and in curated collections with Williams Sonoma Home and One Kings Lane. Across each platform, her work maintains its integrity as a quiet yet powerful meditation on the interconnectedness between place, color, and emotion.

Description
Warm Embrace captures the fleeting beauty of autumn and the tender luminosity of change. Inspired by the season’s golden transformation, Zaveri translates the last light of fall into a radiant field of color. The painting unfolds as a meditation on warmth and renewal, where each layer of oil creates depth and quiet movement. Reds and oranges pulse with vitality while softer tones of blue and amber invite calm.
The work invites reflection on nature’s dual nature—its strength and fragility, its capacity to end and begin in the same breath. Zaveri’s textured surface, sculpted through both brush and palette knife, mirrors the rhythm of leaves in motion and the delicate balance between turbulence and stillness. Warm Embrace offers more than an image of landscape; it conveys the sensation of being within one, suspended in the soft glow between day and dusk.
Her approach is deeply intuitive. Each stroke carries the memory of place and the emotion of time passing, revealing how color itself can hold story, spirit, and surrender.
