Agi’s work is grounded in the duality of power and vulnerability. Through figures, gesture, and framing, she explores how identity is shaped, confined, and ultimately reclaimed. Her art speaks from a personal space but resonates far beyond it.

Description
Martha explores the shifting landscape of femininity under cultural and societal expectations. Inspired by a woman from a small village in Albania, the painting reflects how identity becomes layered with roles — mother, wife, caretaker — until the individual risks being lost beneath them.
The square format of the canvas is intentional, symbolizing societal boxes and containment. Martha’s image extends beyond these borders, asserting that her essence cannot be confined. Through the contrast of delicate details like her flowing dress and soft yellow background against the roughness of her hands and feet, Agi captures both power and tenderness.
This piece stands as a quiet yet firm act of resistance, honoring women who exist beyond the boundaries society sets for them.
